The World-Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) was formed in 1987. WFAS is the Non-Government Organization (NGO) in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO) in relation to acupuncture. WFAS is made up of national acupuncture bodies. The WFAS Executive is elected every four years at the General Assemblies. WFAS hosts a Word Conference every four years, in conjunction with the WFAS General Assembly, and International Symposia in the intervening years.
